I HAVE just returned from a holiday and whilst looking through the backlog of mail, I came across my local Labour councillors’ good news press release. Although they are looking to close the Newport Central Library, they have secured a £300,000 grant for the Maindee Arts Festival.
Now, forgive my cynicism, but wouldn’t that be better spent servicing the cultural needs of the many, instead of a glorified kids’ dressing up day? I think this may be another case of the inmates running the asylum, yet again.
