THANKS to Jim Dyer for rebutting the malicious fantasies of one of your readers. The truth is that I have delivered on the promise I made in 2010 to work “to cut immigration abuses”.
Newport has shouldered its fair share of responsibilities. But it’s grossly unfair that a dangerous criminal should be dumped here because London does not want him, especially when the constituencies of the Prime Minister, Chancellor and Home Secretary have dodged their share of migrants. I am hopeful that there will be good news soon for us.
Newport is the product of two centuries of migration that’s made it a tolerant, diverse city, but we must be on our guard to avoid our hospitality being abused.
Constituents who would like full details on this or any other issues are invited to call me on 01633 262348. I will call you back at a time convenient to you.
