TERRY BANFIELD tells us that he is an anarchist. Anarchists sometimes blindly destroy what they do not understand.

Such is the case with Mr Banfield’s comments on Matthew 10.

If he read the entire chapter he would see that Jesus is speaking of the reaction that he and his teaching would produce. It would divide families (Matthew 10:21), and men would have to make a choice.

Jesus came to deal with sin and he asked men to look deep within themselves and to seek for the transformation that only he could give.

Jesus never demanded blind obedience: he asked for considered obedience.

What a silly thing for Mr Banfield to say! Another indication of Mr Banfield’s contempt for the discernment and intelligence of others. He does not understand Jesus’ use of hyperbole, parable or figures of speech.

And if Mr Banfield speaks of megalomania, he might consider his own approach and the ranting irrationality of parts of his letter. Do please, try to be more amenable, Mr Banfield, and do try to know a subject before commenting on it.

I suggest you read J B Phillips Ring of Truth.

His view of the Lord is far different from yours, as is that of many others of high intelligence and commitment.

And do bear in mind that Jesus never used the weapons of abuse, libel, anonymous mail or untruth.
