I WAS admitted to The Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport Gwent on the sixth of this month for four days.

There has been much published recently about hospitals in Wales, however I have nothing but praise for the treatment that I received.

The medical staff were friendly, caring, and helpful, in fact nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them; this attitude extended as much to the ancillary staff.

The catering was difficult to find fault with, the meals being appetizing and sufficient with hot drinks etc brought round at regular intervals thus breaking up the day.

As for hygiene, the ward floor and furniture was cleaned every day which helped to raise one’s confidence.

I appreciate that there are differences between hospitals and count myself lucky to have the RGH as my ‘local’.
