IT’S THAT time of year when Blaenau Gwent Borough Council will be sending out the Finance Report for 2014/15 including councillors expenses.
People in Blaina and Nantyglo are asking why we don’t get a finance report regarding our town council. In 2011/12, there were around 4,108 homes paying rates.
Certain people would say that you can see them at town council offices, but with all due fairness, these reports should be put out alongside the borough reports.
This money is the ratepayers’ and they have every right to know where their money is being spent – they shouldn’t have to ask, they should be told.
