IN 1963 as contractors at Llanwern, we went on strike in sympathy for the nurses to have a pay rise. We were told that if nurses’ wages were increased, the wrong people would be encouraged into the job for the money instead of the dedication to care, yet the people in the pantomime in the Senedd at Cardiff Bay tell us big wages have to be paid to get the right people for the job. A nurse is worth ten AMs.
