IT WAS a great, nostalgic night at Motorpoint, Cardiff on Friday March 13; Spandau Ballet. It was just as good, if not better than when we saw them in the 80’s at Newport Centre.

Tony’s voice is still awesome and the personalities of Martin, Gary, Steve and John shone through.

They gave a good mix of new songs and old favourites with everyone singing along. It’s the first time I’ve seen most of the audience up dancing from the first song, even though it was a totally seated event!

It was a surprise when Tony and Gary appeared on a box in middle of audience and sang a couple of songs. That gave everyone a great view.

They played several songs dedicated to Steve Strange, a lovely, poignant moment.

They ended the evening with the classic, Gold, and took a while to leave the stage after thanking the audience. Spandau Ballet looked as though they had enjoyed the concert as much as the audience.

I hope I don’t have to wait as long to see them again.
