DURING election time, amazingly, some New Labour councillors like Nigel Dix develop selective amnesia. They always fail to mention New Labour’s most popular time in government, thanks to Tony Blair and then Gordon Brown.

That was a time when New Labour solicited their policies and souls out to big business and big donors. Ed Balls and Ed Miliband were part of the government that lost control of immigration, failed to regulate the banks, started wars and watched over a boom and bust economy.

New Labour courted the South East of England while neglecting their heartlands of Wales and the South Wales Valleys.
