I LIVE in New Zealand and have recently found that my great uncle William Warnock was the warden at the barracks in Newport, from about 1913.

William Warnock married Bridget O’Connor in Ireland, in 1895, and they had five children – Catherine in 1896, William in 1898, Eleanor in 1905, Patricia in 1907 and James in 1908.
