IN ANSWER to Mr Nutt’s letter regarding the welfare cuts, l feel that his time would be better spent commenting on how the working people of this country are having to be supported with welfare or tax allowances in the first place. Successive governments and unscrupulous employers have failed to ensure that their employees are properly rewarded for their efforts. Welfare payments were never intended to supplement workersing people; they are meant to support the sick and unemployed. I would add that the welfare cap of £23,000 is way beyond any figure I ever earned during my working lifetime of 52 years and I suspect that is true for most of us.
