I AM saddened by having just read the blog by Paul Flynn regarding Stephen Fear and the plans for the Sainsbury’s site.
Saddened that such a long standing MP seems to have resorted to the trend to back stab others from the safety of social media instead of speaking face to face with the man concerned and asking his questions there.
The blog attempted to kill two birds with one stone, Nick Webb and Stephen Fear, shame on you Mr Flynn.
It would appear that you did not attend the Riverfront meeting, or the public consultation day yourself but relied on accounts from “people whose judgements you trust”. So you feel it is acceptable to demean someone on others’ hearsay! Double shame on you Mr Flynn.
I am lucky to count Stephen Fear and his son Leon as long standing friends.
They are passionate, inspirational, visionary men. They have worked hard for everything they have achieved and believe with every fibre of their being in the future of Newport, not just as a stand alone city but as an integral part of a new Three City Super Region, bringing Newport up to the status of Cardiff and Bristol.
Stephen and Leon are men who get things done. We could do with more politicians who can say they do as much.
