HAVING read about Friars Walk in Newport Matters, all I can say is that Councillor Bob Bright has a very selective memory.
The Friars Walk article glosses over his 2005 decision appointing a developer that went into administration. It took others from 2008 to 2012 to rewire the scheme and select a developer with a record of delivering major shopping centres. Perhaps we can speculate how stronger Newport would be now if Bob Bright hadn’t screwed it up in 2005.
