IT’S not just the words; it’s Laura Kuenssberg’s tone as well...
“But Jeremy Corbyn, do you acknowledge there is a risk that it looks to voters like you would put your own principles ahead of the protection of this country?”
This was the nonsensical question she put to the new Labour leader on BBC News this week.
When will the BBC employ journalists who are prepared to ask challenging questions and exercise some restraint in waiting for an answer?
Kuenssberg constantly interjected and tried to cut short Corbyn’s answers; the interview was a calamity.
That a supposedly intelligent woman could ask such a question, with a serious face was an insult to intelligent viewers. Laura needs to read up on weapons of mass destruction before lecturing a man who is committed to peaceful co-existence.
But I’m still at a loss to understand how Mr Corbyn’s principles would jeopardise our safety.
Perhaps Laura could expand a little further on this matter so that we understand that nuclear equals good, while peace is bad.
Orwellian, to be sure.
