REGARDING organ transplants – opt out or lose out. There are less than two months until the Welsh Assembly Government will have the power to remove your organs from your body after death without your informed consent if you are an adult living in Wales.
Your next of kin and other loved ones will have no veto about the removal of organs.
The Human Transplantation (Wales) Act 2013 will enable these actions to you and to those dearest to you from December 1.
There are few arguments in favour of the Act and many people in Wales, including doctors, have opposed it.
If you wish to opt out from having your organs removed, then you can go online at organdonationwales.org or you can phone 0300 123 23 23.
My advice is to opt out or lose out of your control over your body.
