SO NEWPORT is welcoming 50 refugee family’s from Syria. Right!
Judging by the families shown on the news, the average Syrian family is about five to six people.
Meaning about 300 people, give or take, will be brought here.
Add that to the 500 people already here, that makes about 1,000 people approximately.
So, somebody’s got their sums wrong.
With 20,000, for the whole of Britain, Newport gets about 1,000?
Come on, there must be more than 20 towns and cities in the whole of Britain or is Newport just being saddled with more than its fair share again.
Just remember, we have schools here where 35 languages are spoken already. Are we going for a record?
