NEWPORT City Council get it wrong again. I, like many, looked forward to the opening of Friars Walk and have been reading the nightly articles in the Argus.
Robin Hall was asked if he had any concerns. Yes, he says: “I’m not sure 350 parking spaces will be adequate.”
Well I am sure it won’t be.
I remember reading previously that there were 350 parking spaces and thought it must be a typo and should have read 3,500!
1,200 staff, shoppers, restaurant and cinema goers plus a bowling alley, 350 parking spaces doesn’t quite add up. There will be chaos.
I suppose I could get the bus but alas they stopped running in September!
I appreciate there are other car parks but even without the new stores it is not always easy to find a space and shoppers will want to be close to the shops.
