RE FRIARS Work Development.
Been there, it looks good, although a burger costs £15 (no fries) and bins, indoor seating, and M&S yet to come.
However we soon realise we are in the same old Newport when Upper Dock Street is again closed off while new paving slabs are ripped up and everything has to done again.
There is the nowhere near complete bus station, from where Newport Bus will deign to carry some lucky passengers on selected routes, who will be able to exit Debenhams and step straight onto their bus.
Meanwhile the remainder can trudge up to Market Square in the rain and wind with our shopping, to stand at windy stops – because the safety doors have been stuck open for months – for a Stagecoach bus to get us home.
We live within the city of Newport and pay council tax to the authority.
Never get much for our money do we?
