THE news that Prime Minister Cameron and Chancellor Osborne have been privately lobbying the EU to remove the tax haven where Google funnels billions of pounds of profits from an official blacklist is deeply offensive.
The Tories have stuck up two fingers to the millions of hardworking people on pay as you earn, and the tens of thousands of small business across the UK like those in Crickhowell who have been campaigning against the unfair tax system, where the bigger you are the less tax you pay. Cameron’s double dealing was exposed after it was revealed that Tory MEPs, complained to the European Commission about an EU blacklist designed to hit tax havens, including Bermuda. On six occasions last year, Cameron instructed Tory MEPs to vote against proposals that would clamp down on multinationals that engage in aggressive tax avoidance. Cameron’s contempt for the working people is clear for all to see.
