I AM writing to alert you to Torfaen County Borough Council’s policy on missed black skinny bins. I have a fortnightly collection, the bin was put out with the rest of my recycling well in advance of the collection time. My recycling was taken and my bin was missed. I contacted the council and had to wait for 12 minutes before a council employee who told me he would pass my query on to the waste department but the council no longer return to empty missed bins. I asked for a report number and had two emails the next day each one stating my bin would be emptied asap – happy days. The next, sent nine minutes later stated they were sorry would investigate the matter but would not be emptying my bin, and would not accept excess waste. I sent a further email asking what I was supposed to do with no bin facility for two weeks and was told the case was allocated to an officer. When I looked at the ‘my reports’ facility on TCBC website, the case was listed as closed. What a shoddy service! Have any other residents experienced bins being missed?
