I WANT to see the Welsh Government take real action so that my local streets are safe, clean and pavements free from congestion by illegally parked cars. The roadside and pavements should become thriving places for every family to walk and spend time in.
I’m supporting Living Streets Cymru who are calling for more action from the Welsh Government on promoting active travel.
The benefits of active travel are wide-ranging and irrefutable; from health and transport savings, to improving the environment and reducing loneliness.
Low physical activity levels among children and adults costs NHS Wales £650 million a year.
Having passed the world-first Active Travel Act over a year ago the Welsh Government now need to turn ideas into action – and get more people walking.
We need a clear, fully-funded plan of action now.
