IN RESPONSE to Freda York’s recent letter (Tuesday, February 2) the flooding experienced on Llanover Road in Blaenavon during recent heavy rain is caused by a sewer that is owned and maintained by Dwr Cymru – Welsh Water.
Unfortunately, as the sewer does not belong to the council, we are unable to carry out any work to rectify the problem ourselves.
However, we are in regular contact with Dwr Cymru – Welsh Water about this issue and we have made our views, and those of our residents clear.
We will continue to keep in regular contact with Dwr Cymru – Welsh Water as they work to find a solution to this problem.
