I NEVER thought of myself as a possible xenophobe, separatist, or more worryingly a fascist. Although Mr Pimley, of New Inn, appears to indicate this, as my views are those of the people he labels as being so. Cleverly he doesn’t directly mention any anti-EU group as being the above. The tone certainly conflates in my opinion anti-EU support with that of fascism etc. If only because by his logic it would appear these are the only people supporting Brexit. Ergo; we are the above fascists etc.
Are you really suggesting that anti EU groups and political parties such as I belong to are xenophobic, separatist and fascist? The above indicates yes.
Just to put you straight. I know fascists and xenophobes for real. I served in Bosnia in 1994 at the height of a war started by such people. I was awarded a medal for this. I saved the life of my Muslim interpreter Fouad from a gang of Serbian fascists, who wanted to put him against a wall and shoot him. EU observers were thrown out by this time, leaving the UN later Nato to sort out the problems they could
not resolve.
Members of my family died fighting real fascists, they loved an independent Britain, but using Mr Pimley’s logic they are one and the same as the very people they died fighting.
I also know separatists for real, having served 10 tours of duty in Ulster, and witnessed the misery true separatism caused.
Where were the EU then Mr Plimley? You, like the left in general, like to bandy these words, fascist, xenophobe etc with ease. You use these terms in fact to denigrate anyone who disagrees with your point of view. You are beneath contempt.
