I WISH to commend the years of public service of Councillor Harry Andrews who has announced his intention to stand down from Caerphilly Borough Council. I have known Harry Andrews for 40 years. Since he was elected in 1967 Harry has, for nearly half a century, given total commitment to the people of Gilfach, of the Rhymney Valley and of Caerphilly borough county.
Harry Andrews has always been a people’s man and he has never wavered in his dedication to public life. I know that colleagues from within the Labour Movement and from across the political spectrum will salute Harry’s years of service.
I wish Harry and his wife Doreen all the best for the future.
