I REFER to the recent article about the support which Cwmbran Community Council gave to creating two wildflower planting areas at Northville and Southville (Argus, May 12). As the article indicates, the project was awarded £4,000 as “runners-up” prize in a national competition, but the “boost” which the project subsequently received from Cwmbran Community Council was actually in the sum of £28,500. I am pleased to provide this explanation, which demonstrates the Community Council’s commitment to supporting sustainable regeneration projects in Cwmbran.
