MR NUTT as you say Wales is a country of low paid jobs, high unemployment and low living standards.
Our economy, unlike Scotland, is not strong enough to consider independence and as a consequence we are generally reliant on handouts from either the EU or a London-centric UK government.
A billion pounds is a lot of money to spend on one project but if our country is ever to be strong enough to stand alone it has to be spent now.
If not it will cost a hell of a lot more in the future and delay the opportunities that such a development will give to the whole of Wales.
The alternative routes will do nothing to improve access to Wales and will only create further log jams for an already long-suffering Newport.
I would further add if Plaid Cymru is a progressive socialist party it would get fully behind the project to support the aspirations of the Welsh people, instead of resorting to political grandstanding.
