CAERPHILLY County Borough Council News Line, June 2016, £1.2 million secured for transport and road safety projects. On checking the figures, once again, they, whether council officers or councillors have, without explanation, allocated 92 per cent of the available funding to projects, new and existing, that are in the Caerphilly Basin or the Rhymney Valley. A paltry eight per cent has been allocated to existing projects, which are in the eastern valleys of the borough.
This once again is showing to the people of the eastern valleys how little their community’s wellbeing appears to be regarded by Caerphilly, happy to take their council tax but not provide a fair share of the returns.
