MY SLOGAN for the Leave campaign would be ‘Set Britain Free’.
Despite all the confusing and contrary claims about the financial gains or losses, there is a more fundamental factor which should influence our decision on June 23.
The economists disagree, but then they always do.
Back in 1981, hundreds of them criticised the policies of the then government and were proven comprehensively wrong.
They (the economists) succeeded in persuading us to enter the Exchange Rate Mechanism, pegging our currency to the Deutschmark.
They were wrong again and we were thrown out in September 1992.
Again, they tried to persuade us to join the Euro.
We resisted them and proved them wrong yet again.
The most important factor is sovereignty.
Were you humiliated, (I know I was) to see the Prime Minister shuffling around Europe, begging the other 27 nations to allow us some concessions.
And what a pathetic result he achieved.
As Jacob Rees-Mogg said, “pretty thin gruel”.
No. The only sensible and patriotic thing to do is to set Britain free. Vote leave on June 23.
