MS GABRIELLE Durham says that former Labour councillor Mr Colin Durham, who has been in hospital for some time, has been neglected by his local Labour Party. (Letters, 9th August).
I (as Islwyn Labour Party secretary) only became aware of Colin’s illness on Sunday August 7.
I immediately notified our local Labour MP, AM and Party Chair, and sent our Party’s best wishes to Colin yesterday (I hope the card has now been received?).
We regret not learning of Colin’s illness sooner.
We’re sorry for any distress caused and, of course, wish Colin a very speedy recovery from his illness.
