FIRST in reply to R. Chahandrahdas (letters Argus, August 17) this paper would never print any racist comment, plain speaking yes.
Second in reply to Peter Strong (letters, August 17) how many refugees live in Caldicot, maybe he would like a couple of thousand refugees into the town but I very much doubt his neighbours would take the same view. Then he talks about the United Nations declaration of 1942 about fighting for “human rights”. My own father never was in a world war for human rights. He was there because he was a “conscript”. I asked him, he was a plain talking man. I myself have doubts about a so-called child refugee who needs to shave every day. And third in reply to Argus reporter Ian Craig, with his comment about Nigel Farage and his moustache, I do notice Ian Craig has a full beard. Look Ian it’s vote leave so get over it and try to “man up”. I am no Tory but Nigel Farage is the only politician we have with any credibility.
