WELL, Mr Sleight, you don’t consider it possible that racist statements could be published in this journal?
Because you are able to phrase your intolerance within certain acceptable limits doesn’t alter its nature, does it?
Also, when has there ever been a bigot in history who wasn’t merely plain-speaking?
The thing about bigots is that they always seek to hide their poisonous intolerance within the principle of freedom of expression; a principle they would invariably deny to anyone with a contrary opinion, were they able to do so.
Unfortunately, because the social cost of denying them the opportunity to seek to promote their particular brand of intolerance is generally too high, unless they overstep the boundary of civilised behaviour completely, the rest of society has to endure their repugnant antics.
However, such endurance doesn’t mean they’re not intolerant bigots, does it?
