SO, £6 BILLION in flood defences by 2020. Great you might say, but that’s in the Overseas Aid Budget to be spent on overseas countries’ flood defences.
Today, it’s been announced that a paltry £12m is to be spent in the UK on flood defences. In the same time frame, that would equate to £48m here as to the £6bn elsewhere. Something askew there I think.
