CONGRATULATIONS to headteacher Tim Williams, staff and pupils on the successful launch of our new school at the old Pontllanfraith and Oakdale sites (“New dawn as new Islwyn High finally opens its doors”, Argus, September 13).
It’s great news that construction of our new, £24 million Islwyn High School building is on schedule for its opening in April 2017.
And it’s thanks to our Labour-led Caerphilly council, working in partnership with our Labour-led Welsh Government, that Islwyn is gaining this new, state-of-the-art facility - bringing excellent educational opportunities for present and future local students.
