WHILE I wouldn’t disagree with the majority of Andrew Penman’s article on Tuesday 20.09.16, about the start of the domestic season for Welsh football clubs (he could probably have added Wrexham to the mix, because they are not exactly setting the Conference alight, either), surely Newport County fans (and possibly Cardiff and Swansea fans, too) are entitled to a little more optimism rather than just mere survival at the moment.
Before the start of the season one of the players (sorry, I can’t remember which one, which is probably a relief to him!) suggested that the County could even be challenging for a play-off place, this season.
After all, ‘little’ Leicester City won the Premiership last season.
