IN HIS reply to M.Stafford’s letter (Sept 9) Terry Banfield (Sept 14) says that he listened to a Christian sermon because “it’s always wise to understand a subject before commenting upon it”.
That sounds something akin to the wisdom of Solomon to me, and we would all do well to heed such sound advice – especially our politicians!
And yet Mr Banfield continues to pour scorn upon the Gospel message. It just goes to show that it’s possible for one to be ‘always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth’.
There must be many praying that very soon the day will dawn when the penny will drop, and Mr Banfield (whose letters we love so much) will be transformed by the renewing of his mind.
