I DO not understand Mr Thomas’s comments about centrist Labour MPs and their concerns about Jeremy Corbyn.

The PLP covers all wings of the party and they were united in their doubts about Mr Corbyn’s ability to lead the party back to power.

As for his comments about the MPs and the party, all these people were nominated by their local CLPs and elected by the public.

The issue now is that the party has been swamped by all sorts of entryists and opportunists. Mr Corbyn’s speech was directed at these people. The whole party is slowly being taken over by a group of people with no particular concern about democracy, just the promotion of Corbyn himself.

The sheer number of these so-called Corbynistas and the rise of Momentum will mean a long time out of power and a long struggle back for the party.

If they had any integrity they would form their own party with Corbyn at the head.

They won’t because if they did they would probably end up losing their deposits.

The problem with these people is they will not be easy to remove as every defeat will be the fault of someone else.

The irony is that the likes of Corbyn, John McDonnell and Diane Abbott were able to hold different views without the fear of deselection.

Now they have control, anybody who does not follow their line faces all sorts of abuse and fear for their position as an MP.
