FOLLOWING the recent Air Ambulance Week and the collection day at Sainsbury’s Crindau for the Sara/RNLI, could I suggest it would make more sense if those who feel it necessary to lay flowers at the site of a disaster or fatal accident instead send the money spent on flowers to one of the organisations involved.
I’m sure it would be a more fitting tribute to the casualties than a pile of (soon) rotting blooms.
One can recall the untold thousands of pounds’ worth of flowers rotting away outside Buckingham Palace on the death of Diana Princes of Wales. What a waste when these search and rescue organisations depend on charity to keep going.
