ON BEHALF of myself and Councillor Allan Rees, I would like to thank residents of Grove Park who joined with us to oppose Caerphilly County Borough Council Draft Local development plan.
Thanks to your support in lobbying and petitioning the council.
Caerphilly have now formally withdrawn the draft LDP, while agreeing to our alternative plan.
Council have agreed to lobby the Welsh Assembly to reinstate grants to help clean up and bring into use brown field sites, to work with neighbouring authorities on a strategic Local Development Plan, to encourage more development and investment in the north of the borough and to challenge the methodology that determines the scale of house building.
We will all be watching with interest to see if our local Assembly member Rhiannon Passmore does all she can to ensure that the Assembly listens and acts on the actions agreed at full council.
