The WHO have stated that glyphosate is probably carcinogenic, so why is Torfaen Council, via a private contractor, spraying litres of a glyphosate-based weedkiller around our estates? What is worse, residents have no warning when or where spraying takes place. Children are particularly in danger from this weedkiller, as once sprayed it takes time to dry and “deactivate”! I wonder if Councillor John Cunningham (Neighbourhood Services) could kindly comment.
It’s interesting that other councils have stopped using glyphosate and have turned to alternative methods such as “steam and foam”.
