IN THESE embittered days of Brexit/Trump-style ‘post-truth’ politics, CL Wesson adds to the sound and fury by demanding that MP’s get on with Brexit (Letters, 18 November).
But the truth is that, as the High Court has confirmed, the Government cannot invoke Article 50 without consulting Parliament.
The fact is that MP’s are quite rightly committed to protecting their constituents’ interests by ensuring that the UK gets the best terms possible for Brexit - while the Tory government hasn’t got a clue how to negotiate safeguards for our jobs, workers’ rights and our economy.
Yes, CL Wesson, people have voted (by a small majority) to leave the EU. But they haven’t voted to jettison our future prosperity along with our EU membership.
