IF ELEANOR Price read less critically and with more discernment she would have noted more correctly what I was saying.
I used to dance five nights a week in the 1950s, which gives me good reason to view Strictly and to wish that there was less distraction in the programme caused by unnecessary over lighting, and audience reaction which almost bears on the hysterical.
Complaints notwithstanding, it is a good programme, and it is fascinating to see someone who at one time could not dance, lift the victor’s trophy, as witness this year’s finale.
Things have changed and I think not for the better.
The rumba and samba are not what they used to be, lively Latin American routines full of life and movement.
The so-called Argentine tango is risible when one watches the entanglement which seem to have more to do with private amorous matters rather than social involvement.
I suggest that she takes a look at Victor Silvester and Edmundo Ross on the net.
She may learn something.
