CAN the good people of Torfaen have an assurance from the new leader of Torfaen Borough Council Councillor Anthony Hunt that the Labour led council will stop cutting our public services?
We have endured over £40 million plus worth of Tory cuts passed onto us as the white flag is hoisted over the Civic Centre! Enough is enough! The lame excuse that councillors will be suspended and the council taken up into administration is at best pathetic. At the moment Torfaen Council is suffering a death of a thousand Tory cuts! These should be a co-ordinated campaign by all Labour led councils to fight the Tory cuts now by setting budgets based on our needs. Will Labour councillors get up off their knees and fight for the working class communities they are supposed to represent or will they continue to put their “careers” in local government first?
A reply from Councillor Hunt would be appreciated.
