THE report in the Argus on January 7 regarding a Facebook rant by a customer who had seen two women wearing their dressing gowns in a Tesco store and was calling on Tesco to ban this has prompted to date, 178 comments on the Argus website
I think it fair to say that most are in favour of a ban as this encourages laziness and shows a lack of self-respect by the wearer and a lack of respect for others. Also that this sets children a bad example.
One reader commented that nightwear wearers are a regular sight in the Tesco store at Spytty.
I suggest that those who feel that Tesco should ban the wearing of nightwear in their stores should express their concerns directly to Tesco. I have done this. The first response that I received from Tesco stated that they do not have a formal dress code in their stores that colleagues use their common sense and discretion when speaking to customers about this.
When I sent a second email stating that I would never shop in their stores again if they continued to allow this, their response was that my comments and feedback have been fully logged on their customer feedback system and will be sent to the relevant department for consideration.
The more who make their opinion known to Tesco, the more likely it is that the issue of nightwear wearers in their stores will be put to bed.
