AS A CHILD I lived in a community of Nissan huts built originally to house WW11 prisoners of war. After the war these dwellings were commissioned for civilian use. They were known as “the huts” and were situated in Bulwark, Chepstow. There were many families resident and I recall a thriving community. Were you part of that community or do you have any knowledge of it. I’m hoping to bring together as much information as possible to give some life history to a time and place for which there is no trace that I can find. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who might have some relevant knowledge or memories of “the huts”. I would like to thank the Argus for printing this letter and I very much look forward to some response.
