THE flying flak in the Argus sports pages following the Wales/English match in Cardiff has made interesting reading.
The fact remains despite a thrilling match and the English coach’s compliments regarding the Welsh rugby we lost.
One might conclude that Wales lost this match through stupidity, the stupidity of decisions made off the pitch, rather than any lack of ability by this fine Welsh rugby squad.
There must have been times when Gatland, incognito, at the stadium must have been rubbing his eyes in despair or disbelief at at what he was watching.
And not necessarily all on the playing pitch!
My appreciation that on a drab February afternoon for an entire 70 minutes a talented team of players brought the nation to a standstill, made us forget about the looming horror of Trump, Brexit, Corbyn et al., and led us to believe the Six Nations race for glory was achievable.
