AT THE moment, Greenwood tower block is undergoing long awaited refurbishment to communal areas.
A couple of weeks ago, most of the wallpaper in the foyer was removed by one of the workmen. A small amount of paper was left on one of the walls so one evening, I took it upon myself to remove it. I did this as I thought that the workmen could carry on with more pressing jobs. I only took off the wallpaper that was within my reach. No harm was done to anyone or anything. The wallpaper had been in a disgusting state for at least ten years. Some residents had been tempted for a long time to tear it off as it was giving a very bad impression of the building to visitors.
Two weeks on, I received a letter from NCH admonishing me for my actions and telling me not to do this again. The letter was sent to me by First Class mail. It was only four lines long.
I cannot believe the pettiness of NCH over this. I pay full rent and service charges. I abide by my tenancy agreement to the letter. There are many more important issues NCH should be concentrating on rather than waste their time by sending me a totally unnecessary and pointless letter.
