IAN Craig says that “Caerphilly [is] the only Gwent local authority... in which Plaid expects to do well this year” (Politics File, 5th April).
The Nationalists certainly talk a good fight, but where’s their positive programme for Caerphilly county borough?
None of the Plaid election material I’ve seen gives any clear commitments to what they would do if elected.
All they have to bang on about is the Caerphilly council senior officers’ conduct investigations - in which Plaid Cymru councillors are just as involved as Labour!
Labour has a strong record of delivery in Caerphilly (lowest council tax rises in Wales, Welsh Housing Quality Standard renovations to thousands of council homes, our new £24 million Islwyn High School, etc). #
And Labour offers a positive platform for the next council term, including an extra £3 million investment in social care, an extra £1 million for our schools and a new council house building programme.
Voters are better off with Labour.
