MRS Briggs pointed out in a letter that £20 million had been spent promoting the Welsh language over the last 10 years. So what has been achieved by spending that money?

The minimal increase in numbers of Welsh speakers should prove to the promoters that people are not interested. But worse still, our education system has gone backwards. We have sunk to the lowest level of educational achievement in the UK. We need to improve our education system, and letting certain blinkered people decide what is to be taught is obviously not working.

She also mentions in her letter trying to attract new businesses to Wales. I do not envy her the task. Consider you are the owner of a technical company wishing to expand, would you risk coming to Wales where in the future, if a certain minority have their way, all your paperwork etc. would have to be in a language unknown to the technical world at large, or would you avoid the risk and locate in England, Scotland or Northern Island?

Sadly, we know what the decision will be.
