WALKING past the scout hut in Bank Street I noticed that there seems to be an invasion of Japanese knotweed just behind the Darlington Court council accommodation. As this is a particularly hard and invasive species capable of undermining the foundations of property I thought I would report it, but how and who to, no clue on the council or the government website.

I saw someone just before the election cutting the grass carefully around the weed. Whether this was a council employee or a volunteer for the scouts I don’t know. So who do I tell to get something done about this, anybody know?

I tried the information station phone line after going through the rubbish of 1234 and all around the houses. I was informed to speak to a real person. I would have been in a queue for 40 or 14 minutes and there were 18 calls ahead of me so I gave up.

Presumably I should walk away as it’s not my responsibility, and hope someone else notices and does something. Oh for the days of when you just rang and spoke to someone it was so much easier then.
