After the tragic events at The Grenfell Tower, I’m concerned about the idiotic decision by the powers that be to cut back fire service cover in Cwmbran.
The fire station now has just one engine to cover the whole town, which along with the Tower Block in the Town Centre, has numerous blocks of flats around the various estates, many of which have had exterior wall cladding added to them.
What if a similar tragedy struck here? The cutbacks should be reversed immediately. Lives could be at risk.
