I FOUND the article on Tredegar very interesting.

Although I’m Newport born and bred, I had links with Tredegar in the 30s and 40s.

My mother was a Tredegar girl who like her sisters went into service. She came here to Newport in service.

All my school holidays were spent in Tredegar with my grandmother and later my aunt, who became Mrs Styling, whose husband Uncle Joe ran a shoe and boot repair at number 45 Brompton Place.

I used to remember the Davies family who lived in the end house in Brompton Place. Their children were Marjorie, Douglas and Jackie. Another lad I knew was Alan Morgan.
